Worship Service:  We will continue our study from the Book of Ruth.  The title of the message is "Entering a New Season."

Christian Foundation: The topic for this quarter is the Book of Ephesians, and Colin will be teaching this class in Grace Hall at 11:30 a.m.

Mentoring Class: "The Mentoring Relationships You Need to Succeed in Life" is the title of this class and we meet in E-8 at 11:30 a.m.  You will learn the seven mentoring types, discover what is upward, peer and downward mentoring, and will have an opportunity to be a part of mentoring relationship.  The topic is "Spiritual Guide."   

Friday Night Young Adult Group:  We will resume the study of the Gospel of Mark in Sept. Contact Tiffany Lin at squeakypoof@gmail.com for more info.

Family Life:  We are continuing our study from the Gospel of John this Friday at 8 p.m. in E-10.  Contact John Shao at john_shao@yahoo.com for info.

Light House Group:  Meet at Andrew and Liz's home on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Temple City. Contact Andrew at Andrewlamcpa@yahoo.com.  We are studying "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.

Missions Conference; Oct 5-7:  Come and be inspired by Operation Mobilization missionaries, Martin and Petro de Lange, who planted churches among the Turkish people in France.  The theme is "Crossing Your Jordan: Dare to Explore."  

Baptism Class:  If you are planning to get baptized please attend the class today in Pastor Ken's office at 1:15 p.m.

Membership Class:  If you have been attending the church for six months and would like to be a member please sign up with Pauline and attend a class on Oct. 20, 9 am in Grace Hall.

YOUTH

Sunday Service: Pastor Ben will continue his sermon series on the Book of Judges today.  A combined missions conference service is on 10/7 at 9:30 a.m. in Chapel 2.

Sunday School: All Sunday school classes meet from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Jr. High classes meet in E-9 with Pastor Ben. Freshmen & Sophomores will be meeting in E-10. Juniors and seniors meet in Pastor Ben's office upstairs with Dr. Glenn. 

Friday Night Fellowship and Saturday Missions Conference:

Join our mission conference on Friday, 10/5 @ 8 p.m. in Chapel 2. There will be kebab dinner and sharing time on Saturday, 10/6 from 4-7:30 p.m. in the Youth Center. 

Baptism Class: Baptism class will continue today, 9/30 from 1-2 p.m. in Youth Center. The baptism service will be on Sunday, 10/21 at 1:30 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary.

2018 Missions Conference [The Great Commission is for Every Believer]

¡P         Cantonese's program was held from 9/14-16.

¡P         Connections, CIA, and Children's Ministry's program will be held from 10/5-7.  The speaker for Connections and CIA: Martin & Petro Delange, OM Paris

¡P         House of Abundance's program will be held on 10/5 and 10/7.

¡P         Mandarin Congregation's program will be held on 10/7

Please pray for the missions conference, that God would lead us together in unity for the sake of the gospel!

Personnel Announcement:  (1) We warmly welcome Yang Wang to come on board to serve as Minister Resident for one year effective 10/1.  Her responsibility will be focusing on local evangelism and missions.  (2) Serena Yang, who is studying at Logos Evangelical Seminary in the M. Div. program, has started her internship at our House of Abundance campus.  Please pray and give support to the two sisters!

Love Offering for Minister Baiheng Li, Abraham:  Abraham's R-1 Petition through lawyer was denied recently, and as a result, he and his wife and son must return to China to await the refiling of his R-1 Petition with additional required documents.  In view of the family's financial need, the Elder Board has approved the collection of a love offering for Abraham and his family for two Sundays, 9/30 and 10/7.  Please make checks payable to FECSGV and write "Love ¡V Baiheng Li & Family" in the memo.  Please pray for Abraham and his family!

Natural Disaster Relief: The church will be accepting a special offering for two Sundays, 9/30 and 10/7, to help with relief efforts for the victims of Hurricane Florence in South Carolina. Please make checks payable to FECSGV and write "Hurricane Florence Relief" in the memo.

            AGAPE CARING CENTER

UCLA APA Free Health Screening on Saturday, October 13 from 11 am to 3 pm at our church. Blood pressure, body fat analysis, vision screening and physician consultation will be available.  Health care seminar topics include Dementia, Weight Management and Diabetes.  Please invite family and friends to come.

Chinese Christian Herald Crusades (CCHC) 26th Anniversary Thanksgiving Dinner [San Gabriel Valley Area] will be held on 10/20 (Sat) 6 pm to 9 pm (Cantonese), 10/21 (Sun) 6 pm to 9 pm (Mandarin, Cantonese) at Ocean Star Restaurant, 145 N. Atlantic Blvd., Monterey Park, CA 91754.
