CONNECTIONS

Worship Service:  Pastor Ken will on speak "Pursuing Your Bridegroom" from Ruth Chapter 3 today.  He will explain the meaning of "threshing floor" and how this truth is significant for every believer. 

Christian Foundation: The topic for this quarter is the Book of Ephesians, and Colin will be teaching this class in Grace Hall at 11:30 a.m.

Mentoring Class: "The Mentoring Relationships You Need to Succeed in Life" class meets in E-7 at 11:30 a.m.  Paul will teach on mentoring through a sponsor today.  Paul will teach on the contemporary model of mentoring.

Sunday Small Group: Sundays at 1:30 p.m. at the Cheng residence.  Contact Paul at paul.c.cheng@gmail.com for info.  We will discuss "Radical Discipleship" by Edmund Chan.

Light House Group:  Meet at Andrew and Liz's home on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in Temple City. Contact Andrew at Andrewlamcpa@yahoo.com.  They are studying "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.

Boundary Seminar:  Dr.  Donald Chai will be speaking on establishing healthy boundaries in relationships.  He will be addressing questions such as:  Can we set limits and still be loving persons?  Why do we feel bad or afraid when we consider setting boundaries?  Using Cloud and Townsend's book on "Boundaries", he will provide biblically based answers to these and other questions.  The last seminar is on Nov. 30, at 8 p.m. in E-10.

YOUTH

Sunday Service: Pastor Ben continues the sermon series on the book of Judges TODAY.  Thanksgiving message will be shared on Sunday 11/18. Let's prepare our hearts.

Thanksgiving Luncheon: Invite your friends to come on Sunday, 11/18 to join our special thanksgiving service and luncheon in youth center at 11:30 a.m.  Don't miss out!

Sunday School: All Sunday school classes are 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Jr. High classes meet at E-9 with pastor Ben. Freshman & sophomore will lead CM small group TODAY. Junior and senior meet at Pastor Ben's office upstairs with Dr. Glenn. There will not be a regular Sunday school on 11/18.  

Friday Night Fellowship: Join our small group fellowship on Friday, 11/16 at 8:00 p.m. in Youth Center to talk about 3 things to do on Thanksgiving.

ALL CHURCH

2018 Annual Membership Meeting:  This meeting will be held TODAY, 11/11 (Sun) at 1:15 p.m. in the Main Sanctuary.  Please plan to attend.  The agenda is:

¡± Approve 2019 church budget, $1,677,729 (including HOA's budget $184,562), increased by 5.5% or $87,979 from last year.

¡± Elect 2019 Lay Elders and Deacons.

¡± Elect 2019 FECA Delegates.

Deacon Board Meeting will be held on 11/12 (Mon) at 7:30 p.m. in Grace Hall.  Please keep them in your prayers.

Elder Board Meeting will be held on 11/13 (Tue) at 7:30 p.m. in Grace Hall.  Please keep them in your prayers.

All Church Thanksgiving Lunch: We will celebrate Thanksgiving with a delicious lunch next Sunday. The Mandarin and Connections will pick up their lunch in the cafeteria.  The Cantonese congregation will pick up their lunch in Chapel 2 or 3.  There will be full service for the seniors in Grace Hall.  Youth will eat in the Youth Center and the children will eat in E-3 and preschool kids will eat in E-1.   Please plan to stay and enjoy a great lunch at church.

Scrip Gift Cards & Church Meal Cards: Both scrip gift cards and church meal cards can be purchased at the court yard / cafeteria scrip booths. These make great gifts for the holidays.  We highly recommend the green meal cards (buy 10 get 2 free with self-prepared lunch containers). Please place used meal cards into the church lunch collection box for our year-end raffle.

AGAPE CARING CENTER

ACC Committee Meeting will be held on 11/15 (Thursday) at 7:30 p.m. in Chapel 3.  Please keep them in your prayers.

FECA International Day of Prayer Meeting on 11/7

Over 50 brothers and sisters from our member churches attended the FECA Joint Prayer meeting (Mandarin & Cantonese) for the persecuted church last Wednesday. Thank you FEC SGV for providing the venue and hosting the prayer meeting. May we continue to remember & pray for the Persecuted Church.  

2018 FECA Delegates Convention

The 2018 FECA Delegates Convention will be held on 12/2, Sunday at 2:30 pm at FEC Diamond Bar (20504 Earlgate St., Walnut, CA 91789). We request all 2018 Delegates from all member churches to reserve time to attend this important annual event. The agenda package will be e-mailed to all Delegates on 11/19 (Monday).
