CONNECTIONS

Worship Service:  Pastor Ken will continue our study from the Gospel of John and the title of the message is "Engage in Making Disciples" from John 3:22-35.

Missions Conference: Dr. Brad Long will speak from Acts 1:8 starting Friday night at 8 p.m. [God's Heart for Missions], Sat. at 9:30 a.m. [God's Heart for Missions] and Sunday [God's Power for Missions] at our regular time.  All these sessions will be held in the Youth Center.   All the regular Friday meetings will be canceled.

Hope for Heaven:  What is heaven really going to be like?  What will we look like?  What will we do?  We will find answer to these questions in E-7 at 11:30 a.m.

Family Life Community:  We're currently focused on "Building Community."  We are watching videos, playing games, and spending time to share, pray, and support one another.  Join us at 8 p.m. in E-8.  Contact John Shao at john_shao@yahoo.com.

YOUTH

Sunday Service: Pastor Ben will continue the Beatitudes sermon series TODAY. Let's learn together what Jesus calls us to be and do. We will have our combined FECA Missions Conference Sunday with Connections in Youth Center on 10.06.19 at 9:30 a.m.

Sunday School :   All Sunday school classes will meet at regular classes TODAY.  Due to Missions Conference, there will be no Sunday school on 10.06.19. All Sunday classes will resume on 10.13.19.

Friday Night Fellowship: Let's join the FECA Missions Conference on Friday, 10.04.19 at 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, 10.05.19 at 9:30 a.m. in Youth Center. Check the Missions Conference flyer for details. Our regular small groups will meet again on Friday, 10.11.19 in Youth Center at 8:00 p.m.

3.       Join Vision for 2020

Vision is recruiting for TWO teams to minister with Habibi International in Kurdish Iraq.  The Lord willing, the Early Spring team will be a medical/dental/music team to bring physical and spiritual relief to the Yazidis in the Zahko area.  The early summer team is planning to connect with Habibi's educational team to teach English and bring music to the children and youth both at the IDP camps and at the Seje Safe House.

2020 Elder and Deacon Nomination, Ministry Plan and Budget: Starting from 9/1, please pray and ask God for guidance and blessing upon these needs. May God be glorified!

2020 Elder, Deacon and Pastoral Team ministry and Financial Planning Meeting:  The Roundtable meeting was held in the Youth Center last Sunday, 9/22 from 12:50-1:30 p.m.  Please continue to keep our leaders in your prayers and may the Lord grant them wisdom and discernment.

2019 FECA Joint Missions Conference: This conference is hosted by FECA will be held from 10/4 (Fri) to 10/6 (Sun). The theme is: "Understand the God of Missions." English speaker will be Rev. Dr. Brad Long (Executive Director of Presbyterian-Reformed Ministries International). Please prepare your hearts to attend and mark your calendars.  (See insert for more info)

Happiness Groups: Praise God, Cantonese Congregation will host their Happiness Groups from 8/11 to 11/10. Mandarin Congregation and HOA's Happiness Groups will start from 8/25 to 11/30. Please pray for the salvation of many lost souls!

Dr. Stephen Tong Farewell Rally in LA: The last session in Los Angeles will take place TODAY (9/29) at 4:00 p.m. at the First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena.  The theme is "Existence, Emptiness, and Eternity." Deacon Board is looking for a group of 6-8 volunteers to assist with administration work from every congregation. Weekday commitment would include basic secretarial tasks and Sunday commitment would include helping with miscellaneous administrative tasks such as facilities usage.
